All Tied Up: Partnered Rope Basics for Beginners
This non-sexual workshop is for those curious about or beginning their journey with rope bondage, whether partnered or solo. Rope can be sadistic or comforting, can feel safe or exposing, it can be a cozy rope hug or a torturous challenge. It really is what you and/or your rope partner make of it! You'll learn basic building blocks that allow you to start tying now with the option to add onto your knowledge in the future if you want to dive deeper.
We will cover:
- risk awareness and mitigation
- negotiation
- single column tie
- double column tie
- joining rope
- if time allows, I’ll teach a specific pattern or harness based on the preferences of the workshop attendees
There will be a limited amount of rope available to borrow for the workshop, but it is HIGHLY encouraged that you bring your own rope and safety scissors/shears!
Bring with you:
- rope (nylon, POSH, jute, or hemp preferred, 2-6+ hanks of 15ft-30ft length)
- safety scissors/shears
- comfortable clothes that aren’t baggy - athleisure usually works (no underwire bras if tying the chest)
- towel, yoga mat, blanket, or something to sit and/or lay on comfortably
- water
- snack if you think you’ll want it
- curiosity and an open mind
